GPS Ticketing System

System requirements

  • Master Ticketing Device present to OUT door of the bus
  • Slave Device attached to IN door of the Bus.
  • A GPS Receiver which gives you the current LAT/LONS data

How system works?

1. End User

Customer has purchase a RF ID card from the owner of the system. This card contains the information of the customer and initial prepaid amount for the journey of a customer. At the start of the journey customer has to flash the card while entering into the bus, at this moment the system will announce the stop name and max fare of the trip has been deducted from the customer’s card this will be a penalty to the customer in case if try to come out of the bus without flashing the card at OUT Main Device. At the time of bus stop arrival system will announce the stop name and customer has to flash the card at the OUT Main device where the actual amount calculated from start to end stops will update on the card. If user flash card direct at OUT device it will deduct the max fare amount of the journey.

2. Internal Working of the system.

The system works around 4 processes

a. IN Card
b. OUT Card
c. Central control Module
d. GPS Receiver

IN and OUT process keep watch on the both flash card readers. Once a card is detected this process will validates the card data and deduct the max fare amount from the card which is already calculated by the central process and if it’s a valid then it send it to Central Process to keep the information in the database, at the same time the central process will ask GPS process to send it Lat/Long data from the GPS Receiver this help to locate the bus stop which will be a starting point of the customer’s journey. Now as the journey begins Central process will automatically start calculating the fare of the customers as long as it receives the Lat/Long data from the GPS Process and it will keep updating it into the database. Central Process will calculate the distance from its current position to its previous Bus stop and next bus stop. This module will disable both the card readers when it moves more the 20m distance from the last bus stop. Same as it find the next bus stop is less the 20m away from its current position it will announce the name of the stop and make both the card reader active for the next ticketing transactions. All the fares from one to another stop are already defined in the database

RFID Cards works on the 13.56Mz frequency and it will accept the card from max 7 Cm distance for avoid the multiple card selection.
